GIVEAWAY: WIN 2 DOUBLE VIP TICKETS TO A PSYTRANCE CHRISTMAS WITH TALAMASCA & MAD MAXX
Christmas in Athens is going full on this year. On Saturday 26 December, Anagenesis takes over Oddity for an X-MAS psytrance night with Talamasca, Mad Maxx and Mad Tribe at the top of the bill, and we teamed up with them to give away 2 double VIP tickets. Two winners, each bringing a friend, partying from a VIP spot the day after Christmas without paying a thing.
If you have spent any time around psytrance, you already know the name Talamasca. Cédric Dassulle started out in the early nineties as DJ Lestat at the Goa trance nights in Paris, and since then he has put out more than 250 tracks and played just about every big psy festival out there. His sets are packed with the kind of anthems a whole dance floor sings back, and honestly, that is exactly what a Christmas party should feel like.
Next to Talamasca, Mad Maxx brings a different kind of power. Think rolling basslines and full on energy that does not let up, the sound that has taken him to stages like Ozora in Hungary. On the same night he also presents Mad Tribe, his project with Space Tribe, which goes deeper and more psychedelic with heavy frequencies and an underground feel. Getting both sides of him in one club night is a treat, so we would not miss it.
Around Talamasca and the American headliners, the Greek part of the lineup holds its own too. Psylence Mind, Involved Mind, Gamma Epsilon and Oxytocin are all on the bill, and with doors at 21:00 the music runs through the night and into the morning. Anagenesis, with the support of Solar Productions, is dressing the club up properly for the occasion, with Christmas decoration, visuals on a big LED screen and a serious sound and light setup. Oddity is having a big season, with ØTTA presenting Pele De Mar there on Halloween, and this one looks set to close the year in style.
Psytrance in Athens usually belongs to summer, to open air parties and long days by the sea. That is what makes a Christmas edition interesting. Instead of sunshine you get a packed indoor floor, a wall of visuals and Talamasca and Mad Maxx, two of the most recognisable names in the genre, playing hours of full on music. For anyone who misses the festival feeling in the middle of winter, this is about as close as it gets without getting on a plane. The two sets at the bottom of the page give you a good idea of what to expect.
If you would rather not leave it to luck, tickets are on sale now through the TICKETS button below. Early bird arena entry is €20, the VIP Balcony is €32 and VIP Backstage is €50, plus booking fees, and the VIP areas are limited. For updates on the night and the rest of their parties, follow Anagenesis on Instagram.
