HALLOWEEN MVMNT x DJ ANGEL

MVMNT is bringing one of Paris’ most talked-about underground selectors to Thessaloniki for Halloween. DJ Angel, the mind behind the Parisian collective 2222, headlines the groundfloor at Soul on Saturday 31 October, with doors opening at 23:00 and a crew of local favourites in support.

A New Voice From the Paris Underground

Over the last couple of years, DJ Angel has become a fixture in the city’s hardgroove and hypnotic techno circles, playing institutions like La Java and the open-air Kilomètre25 under the périphérique. Their sets travel freely between genres, but the thread never breaks: groovy, sensual and built on organic, tribal percussion, with basslines that switch between deep and bouncy depending on what the room needs. It is techno made for moving, not posing.

From Film School to the Booth

Angel’s route into club music was anything but typical. Before DJing took over, they studied film and worked in video production, with a background that also spans dance, photography, writing, VJing and graphic design. That visual, story-driven approach shows in how their sets are paced. Since moving fully into the techno world, Angel has worked with more than twenty collectives and labels across Europe.

Building 2222

In March 2024, Angel launched 2222, an inclusive collective that puts minority voices at the centre of the dancefloor while also managing artists and producing events. In a short time, 2222 has become a recognisable name on the Paris circuit, from groove-heavy nights at Kilomètre25 to a 12-hour open-air and club marathon at La Rotonde Stalingrad alongside Peaktime. The message behind it is simple: a scene is stronger when everyone in it feels safe and seen.

Halloween on the Groundfloor

For MVMNT’s Halloween edition, Angel is joined by three names who know Thessaloniki’s floors inside out. Iosonokiki represents the NoisyNeighbours.skg crew, KYZI comes from the 444 camp, and Meeho holds it down for the MVMNT family. Expect a night that starts dark and rolling and builds into peak-time groove, the kind of Halloween party where the costumes come off long before the music stops.
