UNITECHNO WITH AIDA ARKO & SKRYPTION

Unitechno Athens is going all in on hard techno. On Friday 13 November, Aida Arko and Skryption play Oddity Club together for the first time in Athens, with local favourites Siasios and Tanison completing a lineup that runs from midnight until 07:00. Expect high BPMs, heavy kicks and very little breathing room.

Who Is Aida Arko

Few artists have taken a path to techno like Aida Arko. Born in Iran and now based between Vienna and Berlin, she spent years as a professional performer with Cirque du Soleil before turning to the decks. That sense of showmanship is still there in her sets, which mix groove driven intensity with raw rave energy. She holds residencies at Grelle Forelle in Vienna and with the GEGEN collective in Berlin, and her bookings now include Boiler Room, Terminal V, Verknipt, Fold, RSO and Fabric London.

In the studio Aida Arko has built a catalogue that matches the intensity of her sets, with releases on HEKATE, the label run by Sara Landry, plus Soma Records, Techno Germany, Suara and EXHALE. Her Hard Disco EP on HEKATE pushed both tempo and sound design further, and she has spoken in a Mixmag interview about seeing techno as a movement and a form of resistance.

Who Is Skryption

Argentinian born and now based in Madrid, Skryption is one of the fastest climbing names of the new hard techno generation. He holds a resident spot with Blackworks, one of the genre’s leading brands, and his records have landed on Etruria Beat, Reckless Records, Gomboc, Falsive and Blackworks’ own label. His mix of industrial textures and relentless groove has earned support from Amelie Lens, Kobosil, I Hate Models, Dax J, SNTS, Tommy Four Seven and 999999999.

The Timetable

Unitechno has shared the full running order, so you can plan your night. Tanison opens from midnight until 02:00, Aida Arko takes over from 02:00 to 04:00, Skryption follows from 04:00 to 05:30, and Siasios closes the party from 05:30 until 07:00. Two headliners in a row in the middle of the night means the energy should stay at its peak for a long stretch.

Locals on Deck

Athens heads Siasios and Tanison hold down the home side of the lineup. Opening and closing a night like this is a big responsibility, and both know the Oddity room well, which helps the night flow from the first track to the last.

Tickets

Tickets come in three tiers: Arena at 20€, VIP at 25€ and DJ Booth at 30€ for anyone who wants to be right next to the action. Oddity has hosted several big nights this season, including Stella Bossi and Blame The Mono in October, and this one is shaping up to be among the most talked about.

Unitechno has been part of that wave, and pairing Aida Arko with Skryption shows how far the scene has come. A few years ago, a bill like this would have been a rare treat. Now it is one of several strong hard techno nights on the city’s autumn calendar, and that says a lot about how hungry the crowd is.
